Swine flu hits 100,000 cases a week in UK

The Department of Health said an estimated 100,000 people in England sought help in the past week, up from 55,000 the previous week.

Experts have reported the first case of swine flu that is resistant to Tamiflu - the main drug being used to fight the pandemic.

A patient with H1N1 influenza in Denmark showed resistance to the antiviral drug

The Global Impact

EXPERTS have warned about the potential dangers of using untested vaccines as the British government prepares to fast-track inoculations against swine flu. The European Medicines Agency, the EU's top drug regulatory body, is accelerating the approval process for swine flu vaccine in order to have it ready before winter.

Many products make the claim that they are effective against Swine Flu. Indeed, hand washing can be shown to be effective against Swine Flu by reducing but not killing the virus
