What is EnviroCair®?
It is a formulation of compounds in liquid form, which, when discharged into
the atmosphere, or spread on to surfaces, will eradicate the airborne bacteria
called Methicillin-Resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA), as well as most
other pathogens including Avian influenza (bird flu), Legionnaires Disease
and many others. EnviroCair® has antimicrobial properties.
How does it work?
This product can be applied to surfaces manually, can be used in a fogging
machine. It is intended for use where it is important to maintain cleanliness
and a bacteria and virus free area. It will eradicate bacteria as well as
sanitizing the surfaces where it is applied.
What viruses and bacteria is EnviroCair® effective
against?
Independent laboratory testing has proved that in addition to eradicating
Methicillin-Resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA), EnviroCair®
eradicates such bacteria and viruses as E.Coli, Hepatitis B, Legionella, Listeria,
Salmonella, Swine Vesicular Fever, Poultry diseases, Rubella, and many other
bacteria, algae, fungi and viruses. (see Testing
page for a full list)
Where can it be used?
EnviroCair® is designed for use wherever a clean and hygienic
environment is required to maintain the highest of standards. It is designed
specifically for use in the following locations:-
• Hospitals, including wards, floors, bath rooms, toilets, skirting
boards, etc
• Nursing homes
• Dental surgeries and waiting rooms
• Veterinary surgeries

• Cruise ships
Who has tested and approved EnviroCair®?
EnviroCair® has been tested at Hope Hospital in Salford,
St. Mary’s Hospital Paddington, Thor Laboratories Cheshire and Aynsome
Laboratories in St. Helens. Under Biotech's rigorous testing programme, it
is undergoing further testing at Glasgow Caledonian University.
The ingredients have also been tested and approved in the USA by the Food & Drug Administration (FDA) and the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), whichever agency is applicable.
Biotech’s additional technical support and data comes from access to well known manufacturers of chemicals such as Lonza GmbH, who distribute products globally, and testing companies such as Evans Vanodine International plc. This support enables the Company to operate within the Government Health & Safety Regulations and in line with the Biocide Products Directive (BPD); all the chemical constituents are registered with the authorities administering the BPD.
The products have also been scrutinised by UKAS and NAMAS (accredited microbiology testing laboratories). This is part of Biotech’s testing programme which allows the adoption of new techniques and assists in the development of the Company’s next-generation products.
Is EnviroCair® safe?
Each constituent component has a manufacturers maximum recommended safety
exposure limit. Testing has shown that EnviroCair® components
do not exceed even 1/10,000th of such limits.
A toxicology assessment has been carried out by Professor Alastair Hay at the Molecular Epidemiology Unit of the University of Leeds.
How does EnviroCair® compare with other
products on the market?
EnviroCair® remains active on any surface where it is deposited,
unlike any other product. Some products rely on sterilisation of a room and
its contents by saturation using hydrogen peroxide (bleach), and some apply
heat. Neither can be applied whilst a patient is in the room, and after these
treatments have been applied, any new influx of bacteria will be unaffected
and unharmed.
Is EnviroCair® used by any national organisation?
Due to the unique properties of EnviroCair®, it is used in
the coating of vehicles for the National Blood Service, vehicles for carrying
samples for water treatment companies, and numerous fresh food transport company
vehicles. See EnviroCair®-SC.
Are there any known side-effects to either people or the environment?
EnviroCair® is perfectly safe and has passed irritancy tests
when applied directly on to human skin or inhaled without causing any ill
effects.
